how likely is it for a systemd machine id to contain the word "dead"?

1️⃣4️⃣ Here's the 14th installment of posts highlighting key new features of the upcoming v256 release of systemd.

This one is going to be quick one. Previously, you had to specify a block device name when invoking systemd-cryptenroll, to specify which encrypted volume to enroll your PKCS11/TPM2/FIDO2 device to. This is now optional. If no device is specified, then the tool will now automatically look for the device behind the /var/ directory and operate on that.

@pid_eins looks like you mixed the numbers up, we already had a 13th :)

what's a popular command line tool (other than git) that you wish had a clearer / more intuitive UI? I'm thinking of tools like dig which has this IMO pretty arcane output format

marie,
@marie@chaos.social avatar

@b0rk https://dns.lookup.dog/ this is a dig alternative i found which is pretty nice and readable to use. AND it has pretty colors

so the built-in macOS terminal emulator lacks truecolor, are folks using iTerm2 still nowadays? or did something better come out?

One of this week's many projects: shrink this PC from ATX to microATX and install ChimeraOS to have a "Steam Deck but beefy" couch gaming experience, in a form factor that doesn't clash too much with the living room :)
