Someone at #hobarthackerspace seems to have dropped off a bunch of giveaway computer parts...managed to pick up an RX 570. Certainly not the best GPU out there, but bounds ahead of my current integrated graphics laptop.

Going to go ahead and buy a $120 or so refurbished optiplex off ebay and then stick it in there, along with a ram upgrade, and then... yeah

geez, I didn't even realise how terrible I am at typing...kinda

I don't touch-type, in the traditional sence. I use my index, pointer and ring finger for most of the typing, my right thumb for spaces, and left thumb for the meta, alt key or left click touchpad button. pinky doesn't do much except for the left control key and maybe occasionally pressing enter.

it's kinda like I can type without looking, but I occasionally look down, and any time I need to use function or number keys I have to avert my eyes from the screen

Kinda been collecting a mini library on a shelf, first time really doing so. Certainly more satisfying that borrowing from a library. Might go and buy '2001 and The Martian to add to it.
