The whole time I have used Discord on linux, the voice call audio has been terrible. This has persisted across installs, laptops and distros - Ubuntu, EndeavorOS, even pure arch, all the same. Before joining a call, everything is fine, then all audio (even outside the app) sounds incredibly compressed and low quality. It seems this only happens when wearing bluetooth headphones (sony) and is fine with inbuilt speakers.

Does anybody else have this problem?

I just found a really old post on how to turn #lifx lights on and off from the commandline by sending raw bytes cached in a file (we're talking like \x2a\x00\x00\x34\ kinda thing) to it's IP adress.

I might...be able to make a commandline lifx controller. There doesn't seem to be any out there as of now. Maybe even a #C library if I want to go down the rabbithole of trying to build a library in a language I'm not very familiar with

It's wonderful that lifx opensources their protocol.

Wow. I just went to check my steam purchase history, and it appears that I have been playing #kerbalspaceprogram for nearly 5 years now...with 417 hours on it, that's 15 minutes a day lol.

I remember how I found out about it...one of my schoolteachers back in primary school would show us videos from https://thekidshouldseethis.com, a kind of curation of science videos for kids, and I would sometimes go on there in my own time. This was around about grade 3. One time, I found this link: https://thekidshouldseethis.com/post/how-do-rockets-work , basically talking about rocket basics. At that point, I new all about it and was a well and true rocket nerd, but I have never heard of KSP before. So I went and checked it out. After a while, I nagged my mum to buy it, and she ended up doing so. Not sure how much it cost at the time, but certainly less then now. Funnily enough, that was also my first ever game purchase and first time using steam...which even introduced me to a loose consideration of social media through various random group chats from my friends.

Finally finished my first PCB project. Made in KiCad, of course..

It's a carrier board for the D1 mini and a 128x64 SSD1306 display, with 5 buttons, that is intended as an MQTT controller. If everything goes correctly, I'll link it up with the #homeassistant MQTT whatsit to control my devices without having to open my laptop. Certainly useful

I'm yet to order the PCB and it's parts, assemble it, and develop the firmware, but for now here's the github repo with #KiCad files: #electronics

I get this weird smell whenever I experience static electricity, and also when around things like plasma globes. Can't really describe it.

What are the ergonomics of your setup? Personally, I use a laptop with a stand angled at 30deg (no lift), and an MX master 3 as my mouse.
