Fairbanks Airport 0.52 inches (13.2mm) of rain since Thursday afternoon, making this the highest 24-hour May precip total since 2012. Eielson AFB reported 0.68 inches (17.3mm) of rain. And so food weekend begins: Ordered a garlic chicken pizza from The Peanut Farm. Food options are limited this time of night, but the fine Peanut Farmers send food out the door until 10:30pm.

It’s a very fine late night greasy pizza, and bigger than expected. I know what I’m having for breakfast all weekend.

I added obligatory red pepper flakes & some truffle-parm shaker seasoning (didn’t see any plain parm in the pantry), and now I’m ready to fall asleep on the couch.

Today’s food was goat curry from Everest restaurant (with a garlic naan, a side of raita, and a mango lassi).

SO tasty, but why oh why is goat always so full of bones? I can’t blame the restaurant for that, because when I bought some goat (to make a goat curry) from a butcher shop in Fairbanks a few years ago, it was cut in an equally bony way. Whyyyy? I just want to enjoy some nicely cooked goat meat without having to pick every last bit of it off a little cut piece of bone.

I was eyeballing Everest, will definitely do that one night.

Have heard nothing but good things about Fire Island, and I’m in walking distance! I’ve also been told to go to any downtown pho place, so maybe Lena for a lunch.

Fairbanks has a Taco King (I also kind of love them), so I don’t need to fit that in the schedule.

Expensive places can wait for another visit. 😅

Might have to stop and get a pizza on the way home. 🤔

@LRRRonEarth The friend I’m staying with mentioned Yak & Yeti, but if I do Everest, then I feel like I need to diversify… was eyeballing Hong Kong Spirit Food, because I trust any restaurant that serves chicken feet to generally make authentic Chinese food. 🤔

I asked my small biz customers to pay by check or e-check and many actually have! I have to invoice them separately so it’s tedious but the real ones are down. well, the real ones plus the lady from Texas who told me she was happy to start getting in the habit of paying for things by check due to the 15 minute city people eventually using credit cards to shut down commerce from longer distances 🤗
