Just a sea turtle passing by the underground viewing window into the main pool.

This sanctuary was built on a site that used to be a turtle farm and ranch. Today, it's both a museum and a research center that rescues, treats, and cares for sea turtles. It also provides a long-term home for those that are too weak to be released into the ocean.

We were on Mars today, believe it or not

Picture taken at the Plaine des Sables. It’s a volcanic plain in La Réunion, where the landscape looks a lot like Mars. The soil is red, and there are several shades of red coloring the landscape.

The volcano’s summit was fully covered in a thick layer of fog when we arrived, but we stuck around.

After a little while, it finally cleared, and Le Piton de la Fournaise was revealed to be wearing a rainbow crown 🌈

The French government has banned TikTok in New Caledonia following pro-independence protests.

When asked about the legality of the measure, it basically replied that since the territory is not part of the EU’s jurisdiction, it’s perfectly allowed to ban social platforms however it likes.

The main thing that I kept emphasizing in that interview was that the most outrageous type of pinkwashing in this country has been perpetrated by Macron’s successive governments since 2017. Governments that always like to pretend they are on the side of LGBTI+ people, and yet systematically fail to protect and further their rights.

Unsurprisingly, none of that was kept in.
