Just finished watching “Blossoms in Adversity” with Hu Yitian and Zhang Jingyi 🌸 It was such a gentle drama about a young woman and her family who experience hard times, but who manage to thrive in the end because of their humanity and business skills. The main couple has a sweet vibe and their love feels real even without much skinship.

@Sollenbum I keep trying to understand why I (& millions of others) like it sooo much.

Its leads are gentle, family are supportive, good friends. There is nothing jarring. They solve things by reading & thinking… Not usual top drama stuff.

I think this is when you see how important script & editing is - it has a fantastic pace! Quiet moments with Major Life Challenge then quiet.

I also think the ML two worlds of dark vs light, masked-unmasked, was a simple symbol & worked.

@CedricAugustin His ex-girlfriend had an abortion and it got played up in the press. He lost almost all his contracts and sponsors. He is slowly getting filmwork and did some theatre but no dramas.
