@ward I have to admit I had to do the cross your eyes thing to see the difference, I have terrible attention to detail.

Given the backstory, left if not the main character and right if main character. Bigger eyes feel better if you're playing them, smaller and a bit glassy do fit the character better.

@the_skotts @ward It's all preference but depending on their relationship with who they're talking about I kinda like it the other way around. Left eyes look like a 1000 yard stare, right eyes could be used for a rare "If you go in there, I will follow you but neither of us are coming back"

This kind of reminds me of "Kill your darlings" in writing. I'm not a writer but I did NanoWrimo a few years ago and during editing there would be whole sections that just didn't fit the narrative that I loved but were still best left on the cutting room floor.

It's not easy though.

I don't understand why there are so many bigots in the tech community. The Nexus recent blocked a mod that removed all gay scenes from bg3 and I posted it... And OMG the fragile men went crazy in my comments (bird site)... And many were following me.
I have a very hard time understanding them and I refuse to pretend their hateful points are intellectual conversations... It's like anything that isn't a white, straight man is an attack on them. It must be so boring to be them.

Nexis is wrong for blocking the mod, seriously does a disservice to them.

Yeah, that they are allowed to was never in question. I suppose by saying "Nexis is wrong for blocking the mod" that implies some higher morality or whatever but I meant that I would not have done that.

BUT, I only knew the story from this post, I looked it up and the mod was literally called "anti-gay" I'd take it down too.

@the_skotts @ward It's really dissonant for me. On one hand he must have been a good CEO to his employees so I respect that. On the other hand they supposedly fired him for commercializing and pushing AI development without the safeguards they wanted.

In the end I don't have any skin in the fight to what ever. Going to chock it up to be a win for the workers banding together.

Does anyone else feel like 2 people... Like your work self and your real self?
I've been working so much because it's q4 and I decided to sell out more than normal (nothing I disagree with, just stuff I'd never do if I didn't need money) so I can pay for some game dev stuff and try to quit the regular job in 2024...

But I do not feel like myself when I'm doing all that shit. So I barely talk to my friends and I don't comment here much.. I go to the bird app where everyone is fake...

How does everyone separate the unnatural stuff we have to do for money to eat from the real stuff?

@ward Lately it's been worse than that for me personally.

There's my work self who is working, cleaning, deadline meeting.
And there's tired me, who sleeps, lumbers around the house talking about the plans he had and goals for the weekend. Who then sleeps through most of saturday and sunday.

I like work me, if it wasn't for all of the completely ignoring my personal needs to the point of exhaustion I'd be happy to be only him, but somethings got to give.

Sorry for the outages. The server has been filling up, which is weird since I am storing the media separately. So, I have to look into it. Just deleting the logs means we are back for now. If it goes down again, just know I'll be cleaning things up and maybe adding more storage.
Any people have tips on how to clean up the storage?

Are there any good "feminist" #anime out there? It doesn't necessarily have to have overt philosophically #feminist themes (but it def can), just anime that have well-written, well-rounded leading women characters.

A lot of the anime I consume has mostly hypersexualized women characters (I don't go out of my way for that, it seems like it's just kind of a staple of the medium). For instance, I really like shonens, but they can be super fan-servicey. I'd like to shake that up.

I know there are some great Miyazaki characters, but other than that, I'm not aware of many others. #Recommendations are very welcome.

@ADHDefy Just wanted to say that Shounen typically referes to young boys, so animes and manga for young boys are likely not going to have the elements you want.
