Light filtered through curtains
Provides momentary glimpses
Wet leaves waving in the dark
No sign of Woodchuck
Safe in his burrow
Birds seek shelter
In the branches and leaf litter
Forgotten over the hill
From last season
The poet
Sits wrapped in a quilt
By the window
Notebooks, pens and books
Strewn across her bed
Eyes closed
She is one with it all
And the night is her time

I remember when we moved into this house in 1994. Purple Rhodie was one of our first plantings. We planted him late, and every year, on schedule, he blooms about two weeks behind everyone else’s rhodies, and I love it!

Re-reading Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is quite enjoyable. There is so much in the book that is skipped in the movies.

Lots of life lessons, the most obvious of which is “Oh, no! Look! It’s the consequences of my own actions and choices!”

But, there are lots of other great insights.

Great little book.
