Do you encrypt your data drives?

Fellow selfhoster, do you encrypt your drives where you put data to avoid privacy problems in case of theft? If yes, how? How much does that impact performances? I selfhost (amongst other services) NextCloud where I keep my pictures, medical staff, …in short, private stuff and I know that it’s pretty difficult that a thief...

Avoid hardware RAID (have a look at this). Use Linux MD or BTRFS or ZFS.

I had a similar problem and I’ve resolved it with Tasker; it’s different from your need, but I guess that you can work on it. I’ve created an automation that disable notifications except for phone calls between 10PM and 5AM AND when the phone is connected to a power source AND it triggers when I place the smartphone face down.

Didn’t you answer your own question? You need a windows vm, so install windows in a vm and connect your TV to it.

The problem is to access the GUI of that VM. From the graphic card of the server there is just the CLI

Also, fair warning, controlling Netflix in a browser is probably impossible with your TV remote, so you’d need a mouse and keyboard.

Yes, I know, that’s why I’ll use a USB extender, to connect keyboard and mouse.

I’ve never thought about that, but looking at Thunder settings I can just see Dim Read Posts (I’ve tried to turn it off, but with no results). I can’t see a similar option in Jerboa

If I don’t remember wrong, KDE Connect needs to be installed on both the devices you need to transfer file/text to/from, with Snapdrop (and PairDrop) you just need to selfhost it (or use the official website) without the need to install anything and they *can *work even when sender and receiver are on different network

I’ve tried doing it with Node Red some time ago, but the Email node could only read the last email (if I’m not wrong, I can’t remember).

Edit: I’ve tried installing n8n some times ago, but it seemed too complicated, I’ve never tried Windmill, I’ll have a look at it

It has to be email monitoring. I’m already using Uptime Kuma for other notification (with ntfy) and I hope to find something that can check email to integra in Uptime Kuma.
