For anyone unaware, Google Chrome is currently rolling out an update that track your interests based on browsing history, then share them with 3rd party websites. The notification page makes it sound like they added a new privacy feature, but in actuality they automatically enrolled you into their tracking system and you have to go and manually opt out.

OK Fediverse, help me out here. I was at Beach61 in Berlin a few weeks back while there was a #beachvolleyball tournament going on. And there was a one off match of world class #footvolley players against beach players. It was wild. But not only can I not find any video of that match, I can't find ANY video of a foot volley Vs beach volleyball game. Anyone?

This is my line in the sand: I will pass on having anything to do with social media where my attention and my data are the product.

That’s how Meta and Google and Reddit and all the big corpo-owned sites can afford to subsidize the services they use to “hook” you, the Product.

I have hosted my own email for years. Hubby has been having good success with a paid search engine so I’m gonna switch to them and say bye bye Google, whose results have been getting worse and worse.

I own my attention.
