Who among you runs long distance in Vibram FiveFingers? I'm looking for model recommendations. I absolutely love my KSO Evo, and it's the best shoe I've ever run in, but I've found that I can put barely 300 kilometres' worth of training on them before the sole wears through.

One of the things I like about the Fediverse and I liked about Livejournal as well as Tumblr, was the ability to connect with folks outside my default real life groups.

One of the things I found kinda uncomfortable about Facebook and it was Facebook in particular, was it's ability to hyper connect my real life groups.

Whereas in real life you could move on, it was jarring seeing just who people really are with the mental distance of being online. Plus you couldn't get away.

@onepict legit. It's both a plus and a minus, depending on where you're coming from (and this can of course change at the flip of a switch and on a case by case basis)

thinking about going to maybe 1 programming conference in the next year or two but I'm not sure what would be fun.

some past conferences I've enjoyed that cover a big range of topics and aren't corporate: Strange Loop, PyCon, Deconstruct, !!Con.

one thing I especially appreciated about strange loop was that I got to meet some Black people there, usually the conferences I've been to are very white

    Krampus returns! You didn’t block the chimney well enough last year did you, to be fair they’ll always find a way.

    On the down side, I am once again doing sad family shit.

    Up side? I’m having a right laugh with my Mum while I do it, and so far I am still winning the game of ‘new tattoo hide and seek’ - she hasn’t spotted the one I got back in August. If I can make it to a year that means she’s not allowed to be annoyed with me for having it. That’s the rule (that I made up).
