Just wondering what people think of eSIMS? I'm considering switching to one. I know there are several advantages and disadvantages. From what I've been reading, it'll be much easier to transfer an eSIM to a new device. At least that's how it seems by reading the instructions on my carrier's site.

I'm not a big Telegram user. I have a couple of questions. Is it possible to join a group using the iOS Telegram app? If so, how is it done? I don't see any group options.

It is now official. I just paid for my school reunion. I'll have to stay at the school this time around, but that can't be helped. Next time I'll plan ahead and stay at one of the hotels. Either way, I'm looking forward to it. Should have a good time connecting with old friends as well as making new ones.

The OKO beta in Canada will end on Sunday. The app is very good. It still needs a lot of work if they want it to be useful in Canada. I've had some very good results with it, but I've also had some very bad ones. It seems like it works fine in the States. I've spoken to some O and M instructors and a lot of them aren't very happy with it in its current state. I don't know if we'll ever see OKO come to Canada.

I'm glad we finally have the opportunity to beta test OKO in Canada. I have tested it at 3 intersections so far and it is working perfectly. Hopefully after the beta test, this app will come to Canada.

There is a lot of miss information going around in the blind iPhone group on Facebook. Some people are saying if you're totally blind you can't set up face ID on your own. They are saying you need sighted help. This is not true. Other people are saying that the new stolen device protection mode is not worth using. They are basically saying because you have to use face ID or your fingerprint to validate some features that it would be too much trouble for a totally blind person to use.

Anyone know if you still have to have an adapter or a screen to use a Mac Mini? I know you used to need one or the other or VoiceOver wouldn't work properly.

My daughter is happily using her new white iPhone 15 Pro. We had no problems activating the sim. I'm still holding out for the 16 Pro. Even after messing around with the 15. I love that action button and the USB C port.

I think it's great that we have so much choice for GPS apps. I find it a little confusing that we now have Soundscape and Soundscape Community. If you download both of them, they both show up as Soundscape on your home screen.

The July update for the Hable is out. It seems to be a solid update. I don't understand why it was released before the documentation. I'm on the Hable list and saw the sample manual that was posted. If a person isn't on that list they would have no way of knowing any of the new commands. The website says that the tutorials and documentation is currently being updated. I think they should have released the update and documentation at the same time. This is not a criticism. This is just my opinion.

I feel that I need to put this out there. You need a computer in order to downgrade from iOS 17 to iOS 16. Turning off the beta option in settings on your device will not cause your device to downgrade. I'm only putting this out there because several people have asked me if they can downgrade without a computer. Once again, the answer is a definite no!!!!!

I'm really impressed with all of the different sound choices for notifications that are included in Mona. I'm using the default sound, but I will go through all of the different sounds at some point.

Good morning everyone. Almost time to start the weekend. The Canadian Hable challenge will finally begin this Sunday. I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully I'll win, but even if I don't checking out the Hable has been a great experience. If I don't win I'm going to have to find a way to save up for one. Some contractions will work at the beginning of the first sentence, but some won’t. This is very strange, and it seems to only happen in Mona for some reason. #HableChallenge

I’m wondering if any other Mona users are using the Hable One? I’m noticing something very strange. If I use a contraction at the beginning of the first sentence in a post, the contraction is not translated. For example, if I want to use the word: this, the, how, just to name a few. I can use a contraction at the beginning of any other sentence, just not the first sentence. Is anyone else seeing this behavior? #HableChallenge

I'm still waiting for the Hable to arrive. I was hoping it would come today. No luck. Oh well, maybe tomorrow. They've pushed back the beginning of the challenge until next Monday. This is so that we'll have time to get familiar with the Hable.

Hable is running a Canadian challenge for any Canadians that might be interested. There are 3 requirements you need to meet. 1. You must have your own smart phone. 2. You must be located in Canada. 3. You must have a phone number linked to WhatsApp so that you can participate in the challenge. The challenge starts may 15th, and will run for 2 weeks. The winner will receive the Hable for free. All other participants will have the option to purchase, or they can send the device back. If anyone in Canada is considering entering the Canadian Hable challenge you still have time. The website incorrectly states that the deadline is April 30th. I have confirmed that the challenge doesn't start until the 15th of May. I wasn't told the deadline, but I was told there is still time to enter. I have sent in my registration.
