It's interesting that with #affinity being acquired by #canva users respond with their hope that it doesn't now enshitify.
And I kind of feel: People know. They know that these companies are unsafe stewards of their work tools. But invest in that system regardless.
Not sure how to convince people to invest in open source instead so this kind of thing can't happen. Not just hope won't, but structurally can't happen.
Imagine the following situation: your project is MIT licensed. Someone takes the whole project and white-labels it (changes the name), then sells it commercially without providing the source code or sharing any of the sales revenue with you. They include "Copyright <your name>" and a copy of the MIT license in the "about" page of the software.
I tried to install Nix today and somehow got completely locked out of my system within the first hour. For some reason it didn't want to log in to my account from either SDDM nor TTY, but logging into root (which I set to the same password with the "use same password for root"-button) in TTY worked without issue.
The idea of TikTokers migrating to the fediverse scares the shit out of me. That place is an unmoderated hell pit, no one here would be prepared to deal with them
@gavi maybe compared to Twitter, but I'd reckon TikTok and Instagram are about the same there.
Also, I doubt that it will grow to a point beyond handling, both becuase no other fedi services have done so and because I think the vast majority of moderators would know when to stop accepting sign-ups (both due to server expenses and due to moderation being exhausting)
@Sheril not having as many celebrities, influencers, and "mastodoners" (in the same way as youtubers, tiktokers, etc.) is an argument for the fediverse imo. I much prefer genuine human interaction over marketing disguised as interaction.
I'm inspecting a website using dev tools,
and want to export/save a storage file that the website is using.
Anyone know how I can do it?
tried Firefox developer version, chromium, I can't seem to find a way to export these files.
boosts are welcome :)
EDIT: for clarification, if you go to inspect, and then in storage tab, where you can view cookies and other stuff.
I wanna save files from there. not the html files.
I'm publishing a minor translation update for Fretboard on Flathub right now. Thanks to @bittin, @sabriunal and @flipflop97 for being awesome people and making the GNOME ecosystem more convenient and accessible for speakers of their respective languages!
