smeg,

they said their games are mostly focused on AR

This is amusing to hear. I’ve not played pogo for a few years ago I don’t know if things have changed, but absolutely everyone I knew used the AR for 5 minutes because it was cool and then disabled it forever because it made the game sightly harder!

smeg,

Don’t do creative things for other people’s praise, do it for yourself!

smeg,

I said for other people’s praise, not their money!

smeg,

Isn’t this one of the main facts about ostriches?

Any advice for a long-time Linux user, first-time Linux *desktop* user?

I’m a regular user of Linux systems but apart from a couple of test Ubuntu installs many years ago they’ve always been containers or VMs with no DE which I can throw away when I break them. The Steam Deck showcasing how far Wine/Proton has come combined with Windows being Windows has given me the push; I’ve made a Mint...

smeg,

Great answers, cheers!

smeg,

I vaguely remember from trying this many years ago that if you install Windows first it will try and wipe everything, and if you install Linux second it will leave Windows alone, and you can then go straight to grub on every boot and choose Windows or Linux. Is that still the case?

smeg,

Thanks!

smeg,

Good to know, thanks

smeg,

Any disadvantages to just virtualising Windows?

smeg,

Noted, thanks

smeg,

It was an interesting movie, just don’t go in expecting it to be as good as District 9

smeg,

Why are you seeing ads on a webpage in this day and age?

smeg,

I think so, but I go for the even lazier option: open Settings, search for Private DNS, and set it to dns.adguard.com. Most ads blocked across every app, no installs required!

PayPal will use your purchase information and shopping patterns to sell targeted ads (www.theverge.com)

“If you’re someone who’s buying products on the web, we know who is buying the products where, and we can leverage the data,” Grether said in a statement to the WSJ. He also said that PayPal will receive shopping data from customers using its credit card in stores....

smeg,

Just using a debit/credit card? I still choose not to do this when there’s a PayPal option though, just feels riskier!

smeg,

That sounds pretty illegal under the GDPR though, hence why I usually feel fine paying by card if the website feels like they obey the law.

smeg,

GDPR isn’t just an online thing, it applies everywhere so I don’t know how your bridg software is getting away with that!

smeg,

FYI the sale is back on again for another month in case you missed it before
