YouTube on smartTV now serves 2 ads at the start of the video from 65 sec each if you don't skip. On a video from under 6 min :ad:

Not even talking about the mid-video and after-video ads

At this rate YouTube is even worse than commercial TV :nkoHammer: :youtube:

Yes, I do have an adblocker but that does not work on a smartTV and I do not have a PiHole or something running

@stux I stopped watching YouTube on devices and apps I cannot arm in plug-in. This means I only use browser and haven’t seen an ad for a long time.

I would pay for premium - that removes ads, but won’t unless they remove the tracking within the subscription.

@stux Oh, and I run ADGuard Home, a dns sinkhole just like PiHole. Doesn’t work on YouTube ads. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Koleżanka pokazała mi filmik z jakichś zawodów .owych, gdzie podczasz zjazdu z pagórka ktoś się wyglebił i w efekcie kilkudziesięciu cyklistów zaliczyło malowniczą glebę.
Wniosek z tego, ze ci profesjonalni rowerzyści, to może i dobrze jeżdżą ale słabo sobie radzą jak trzeba się zatrzymać :D

Ergo, są to idealni rowerzyście wg projektantów DDR - nigdzie nie skręcają, nie zjeżdżają i nie zatrzymują się. Mają trasę to nią jadą, nie zadając zbędnych pytań, jaki to ma sens, kim jesteśmy i dokąd zmierzamy. Jeszcze jakby umieli się teleportować między odcinkami.

@koval_blazej W peletonie jest niepisana zasada, ze się nie hamuje. Jada tak blisko, ze jak ktoś dotknie hamulca to może położyć wszystkich. Byłem w sytuacji na wyścigu, gdzie ktoś przede mną się wywalił, ułamek sekundy na decyzje. Mogłem hamować i wpadłaby na mnie zgraja cielsk, albo poleciec do przodu, ale mieć jakaś kontrole nad tym jak oberwę. Wolałem przelecieć przez kierownice niż dostac nie wiadomo czym w plecy.

@TofuTheSquirrel I clean just the drivetrain (chain and cogs) and leave to dirt on the frame. I keep my bikes in the apartment and have no proper place to clean them😂

@TofuTheSquirrel Not really… I wait until it’s dry and shake it off, maybe with a toothbrush or some other kind of brush. I apply chain lube link by link not to overflow it and wipe it with a rag. I specifically have chosen 10 speed gear and 1x front so I just grind it until it doesn’t shift well and then replace cassette and chain.

I mean I don’t love what I do to my gravel bike… But I carry that bike to 3rd floor every day and my wife is really angry when I wash in in the bathtub…😂 I simply hang it on the service stand and let it dry and scrub the chain and cassette. When I go out, my bike is quiet so I do something…🤷🏻‍♂️ If you go into mud every day that turns out to be a tedious task to completely clean stuff like that. And I still have to work, carry about 2 kids and pregnant wife. Priorities…😁

@hirad Yes, but I think there is a vague point of being popular enough to become solid „product” and that’s quite difficult to achieve. Niche things tend to be unpolished and tedious in use.

@hirad It is getting better, true. But remember the discussions about onboarding. For “normies” it was instant discouragement. I get along, but if I wanted my wife to start using it, I’d get 100 weird questions… Now people are complaining recent Mastodon changes simplifying registration process are leading to centralization on the main server and some are moving to other, usually more niche parts of Fediverse…🤷🏻‍♂️

@hirad Well, in my case my friends don’t really give a damn about , they still are on Facebook and Instagram. The most I’ve ever got from people is I convinced my mom and 4 long time friends to use Signal (not Fedi). Everything less popular is niche IT crap for them…😂 I could be talking about sex life of shrimps with the same effect… @luccamerel
