Saturday I started off my lunch drinking the Chapless Horseman, a 9.1% ABV Russian imperial stout aged in Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels for 10 months. I rarely enjoy a barrel aged beer as much as I did this one. Denizens Brewing did a fantastic job.

Last was Chocolate Hazelnut French Toasted, a 7% ABV breakfast stout by Black Flag Brewing. The maple syrup was the prominent flavor here, with the hazelnut and chocolate taking a back seat.

The family and I headed to Frey's Brewing Company in #MountAiry, #Maryland for drinks and games. I started with the Frey's Winter Devil Rave, an 8.5% ABV imperial stout. My wife enjoyed a sugar free caramel vanilla iced coffee. I followed it up with Smoochin' Roy Rogers, a 7% ABV Irish stout. The kid enjoyed a chocolate muffin. We played Tell Me Without Telling Me for a bit followed by a couple rounds of Shut the Box. We always love stops at Frey's! #ItsAlwaysStoutSeason @beersofmastodon

Drinking a Holy Donut Dark Chocolate Peppermint by Lone Pine Brewing and it's effing great! The dark chocolate is delicious and the peppermint is prevalent but not overbearing. Super smooth as well. Yesterday my wife and I headed to the newly opened Potomac Ridge Brewing in #Sharpsburg, #Maryland. I got myself the Coal Miner's Porter and we shared the Margherita pizza. The place was absolutely packed, which allowed for some good conversation with new friends. The space was great. We will definitely stop back when we are in the area again. @beersofmastodon

It was a stout, nachos, and pizza kind of Saturday! We headed to Falling Branch Brewery in Street, #Maryland for Stoutfest!
I started with a flight consisting of:

• Double Goats in Hats (Pickett)
• Oyster Moon (FBB)
• Felix Brew-tista (Hopkins Farm)
• Baby Ruth Bader (Independent Brewing)
  Followed that up Black Market Java (FBB), then half a pour of Chocolat (Battery Island). And for lunch we had chicken nachos by Top Nach and a pepperoni and bacon pizza by Love Crust Pizza. @beersofmastodon

Went out to Pherm Brewing in Gambrills, MD earlier today. They had a new Mango Habanero IPA out, and I wanted to try out the Pho Wheels food truck too.

I had a few small pours, and a full pour of the Caspian (mango habanero IPA that I wish had a bit more heat) and their Forbin (American IPA).

Pho Wheels was down right fantastic. I got their Banh Mirria (Banh Mi and Birria fusion), and their tacos with a fried egg on each.

@Zarf joined me on the latter half of the visit. Great times.

Yesterday my wife and I headed to #Maryland's newest farm brewery, Stone Silo. I got myself the Oaten Around, a smooth 5.6% ABV oatmeal stout. My wife got the Nehemiah Nectar, a 5.3% ABV tangerine hazy IPA. We both enjoyed our selections. The locals showed up hard in support, as parking and seating were scarce, and it was great to see. There were both picnic tables and Adirondack chairs outside, along with fire pits. #ItsAlwaysStoutSeason @beersofmastodon

Last night my wife and I headed to the newly opened Black Flag Social House in #Marriottsville, #Maryland. I got myself Dark Arts, an 11.5% ABV imperial stout. We didn't grab any food this visit, but it all smelled amazing. The atmosphere was very family-friendly, as you'd expect if you'd visited Black Flag Brewing before. I spent all week drinking Olde Hickory Brewery's Hickory Stick Stout, thanks to it being available at #NorthCarolina grocery stores, so I figured I'd pop into the Olde Hickory Tap Room before heading home. I grabbed the Event Horizon, an imperial stout brewed with honey and aged in bourbon barrels. At 12.3% ABV, it was boozy, roasty, and slightly sweet. I had to take my time with this one, but thoroughly enjoyed it. #ItsAlwaysStoutSeason @beersofmastodon

Yesterday my wife and I headed to RAK Brewing in #Frederick, #Maryland for the first time. I got myself the Rise N Shine coffee stout. It was brewed with Puerto Rican coffee, Madagascar vanilla, and Saigon cinnamon. It was smooth and the flavors were well rounded, making it a delicious and mellow brew. It was smooth and creamy, and the flavor of chocolate was prominent. I would absolutely keep my beer fridge stocked with this. Today the family and I headed to the Cushwa & Rad Pies Taproom in #Columbia, #Maryland for lunch. I got the Dark Dome, a 7.4% ABV porter conditioned on cinnamon, vanilla, and coffee. I enjoyed this one, but my wife ended up stealing it from me. Finished with the Barrel Aged Only the Present, an intense yet smooth 12% ABV coffee stout. We also grabbed a pepperoni pizza and a cheese pizza. Overall it's a beautiful spot with great beer and pizza. #ItsAlwaysStoutSeason @beersofmastodon
