Stupid question, but do you have to register in advance to be able to vote? Why is that? In Germany, every citizen eligible to vote gets the necessary documents automatically by mail.
You are registered with your name and address by birth and are required to update your information if you move. It’s actually pretty close to the UK system I believe, just that it’s automatic and not called voter registration.
So you base your voting decision on an abstracted philosophical argument? Maybe take a good look at the US voting system and ask yourself what happens when Trump wins because people like you upheld their “principles”.
The only other option is indefinitely worse, so the responsible thing to do is voting for Biden. You can still oppose the war on Gaza. Protest it. Be loud. Fight to change the shitty undemocratic voting system of the US. Not voting Biden will not save a single life in Gaza. You are the one who needs to wake up.
Your comment reeks of privilege. Millions of Americans can’t afford the chance to not vote Biden. Not voting Biden will also actively worsen the situation in Gaza.
Not voting for Biden makes it worse than it is right now. If Biden is not going to be president, the utter maniac Trump is. You can oppose the war on Gaza and still see this simple truth.
A first past the post voting system that over-represents rural areas
The extremely conservative US mindset
The fact that right wingers are somewhat unified and will always vote for their candidate no matter what while progressives are split.
The fundamental problem is that you can’t possibly hope to boil politics down into two parties. Republicans are far right while Democrats are liberal conservatives. There exist leftist ideas within the democratic party but they don’t really have a voice. What you need to fix this mess is proportional voting, a less powerful president and preferably one who is elected by a parliament coalition and not directly.
Until you have that, the only sane thing to do is vote for the less insane party.
It’s so much more convenient to play locally though. Just press the button and you’re back where you left. No need to boot up the PC, start the game, establish the connection.
I love that feature so much. I have played through at least 20 backlog single player games with my deck. Amazing games that I could never finish before because it’s apparently too much to ask for my brain.
If we’re talking election strategy, of course you’re right.
If we’re talking morals, everyone not voting for Biden is partly responsible if the world gets served Trump again. Trump is not going to improve the lives of anybody but himself and, by accident, other rich assholes.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is not going to stop regardless of who you vote for in the US election. It is going to get a lot worse if Trump gets elected. Many aspects of your life are going to get a lot worse.
France is a good example. They invest billions in their nuclear power. Still, their infrastructure is old and they can’t seem to build new reactors. It’s a money sink while “dumb renewables” are the cheapest most spammable energy source we ever had.

I assume most people here already are registered but just in case: here’s the link.
