Left ankle: hugely swollen, yet only somwhat painful.
Right knee: slightly swollen and puffy, yet incredibly tender, unstable, and difficult to use.

Is the difference due to the AGE of the injury? The left ankle was horribly twisted 50 years ago and has continued to hurt periodically over the past 5 decades.

Right knee eroded due to arthritis, only painful for the past decade, tho increasingly.

FWIW, I get the usual advice from every MD: RICE. Take painkillers.

This painkiller business is very interesting. I detest those things, but, in the interest of fixing my damn back, I'll try anything. So this past week+, I've been taking needed meds AS NEEDED. With pain meds, you have to take your meds at staggered intervals to ensure the staggering is limited to the meds.

I took the muscle relaxants, sleep meds,and pain meds as recommended. Everything's a LOT better except for that damn knee and ankle.

Advice welcome.

@jbhughes I'm very careful to stick with the exact prescription at the exact time. They're just OTC painkillers, extra strength. I no longer trust any of the fancy opioid/opiate meds, I had those after knee replacement, and HATED them.

@Kierkegaanks I'm keeping weight off it, altho hopping up and down the stairs is always terrifying. The muscle relaxants are badly needed bc I'm having full body muscular spasms, despite gentle stretching and staying hydrated. Fortunately, I'm in California, so well supplied with legal weed. And it makes a real difference. Thanks for all the advice, I'll be making a doctor's appointment forthwith.

@Kierkegaanks Yes. Doctors assure me that it is part of the process of getting old. Old folks get dehydrated faster and easier, and need to keep an eye on their sodium-potassium-calcium balance.

After brashly declaring he wanted to in his trial, it appears increasingly unlikely that will do so, as the seems poised to hear next week.
Defendants rarely testify, because their advise them that the risks of doing so, particularly when it comes to being questioned by prosecutors , are simply too great.

There are only ~40 million Black people in the US. Population similar to Lagos state in Nigeria (the tiny red part).

There are ~250 million US white folk (~220 non-Hispanic white + ~30 million Hispanic white).

So Biden's "missing" 10% of Black men, is fewer than 2 million. Or less than 1% of white US population.🤡

White voters don't face the massive systemic voter suppression that Black voters do. So increasing white dem turnout is much easier.

So if your boy doesn't win, blame yourselves.

@StillIRise1963 @mekkaokereke Anyone who needs to see if a world can exist without war needs to look at Asia's long history. The Chinese exerted hegemony over the rest of Asia, but with soft power. War was not crucial when you had an enormous military (which you needed to protect the country from raids by outgroups).
