Hey @timonsku did you ever root or do anything with your Spotify Car Thing? I still have one in the box, but have not yet tried.
Since Spotify is effectively remotely bricking every single one of these devices it ever sold (which really should be illegal) it sure would be nice if they'd completely open-source it.

@InstantArcade @jasoncoon you can, its just Linux and necessary sources are available. Could be made more polished but there are pathways, its a pretty standard SoC. Making WiFi work with a dongle would be a main driver I think.

What are all the ways USB hubs suck? I’ll start: They don’t provide enough power to their connected devices (especially if the hub is bus-powered), and they don’t even have the decency to indicate when they are falling short of their devices’ needs.

@mossmann @azonenberg @jevinskie @szczys heh, I was developing a hub for all the similar reasons some years ago. This thread reminded me to maybe get back to that.
Not just for development purposes but also with integration work hubs can be such a gigantic PIA.
