There has to be a better way to share my host filesystem with my Windows 11 guest than SSHFS-Win. It generally works, but sometimes the connection breaks and that's annoying
@sigmasternchen And that's exactly what Microsoft should've thought about, so that sensitive data is removed, however that would work. I'm sure they could've figured something out. Instead they just YOLO'd it like complete morons.
@leaf People need to understand that doing something on one's own terms and doing the same thing under pressure and without any regard for motivation are completely different matters.
I learned so much these last few months. For the ref sheet, I needed lots of references to draw most of the views, and it's not like the poses are very complex. Now, for the cover art I drew my character with a very complex pose and zero references at all. That's crazy
My main motivation to learn has always been to realize my ideas without any middlemen.
I learned programming because I wanted to make cool programs and websites, and then I learned UI design because I wanted my programs and websites to look nice.
I learned drawing creatures, but for a long time I wasn't good at it and so I relied on other artists to draw my ideas. But even though I was happy with many outcomes, they were never what I truly envisioned in my head. I suck at communicating my ideas, and it doesn't help that words limit you in what you can express. Not to mention that artists will (understandably) impose limits on how many corrections you can do, so at some point you have to, or feel obligated to, settle with an outcome that still doesn't quite match. It's stressful.
Now I'm finally reaching a level where I can draw a lot of ideas the way I envisioned them, and that feels fucking awesome.
@RaethDragon Yeah, it can also be nice to see how an artist handles your idea. (Unfortunately, for me they tend to be artists with a very crowded queue :drgn_flat: )
@ahto Lots of things, but to make it short: their moderation is very heavy-handed and I got treated badly by them in the past, too. I wish people didn't recommend it as the go-to art instance.
