E-commerce vet here. It’s easier just to try and not give out that data and to pay to have it scrubbed. But, this thought experiment is fun, so here’s how you’d make your targeting data complete trash.

When you fill out forms, pretend your gender, race, and age is fluid. Also, pretend you’re nomadic. Then behave erratic as fuck online - pay for bibles, butt plugs, taxidermy, and PETA donations

Your data will be absolute trash. You’ll also be miserable because you’re going to be visiting the Amazon drop off center with gag balls and porcelain Jesus figurines every week.

I’m one of the mods mentioned in the article (Dan) and yes, I’m here. Been talking (well emailing) with Scharon for a number of weeks now. I’m highly unlikely though to become a mod again here or anywhere. I just don’t think I can handle it again to be honest. I’ll continue to contribute where I can with advice but my mod days are likely past.

EDIT: For those that didn’t read the full article, I was a mod of /r/homeautomation which is discussed further down. I was not, nor was ever, associated with /r/canning. Just wanted to make that bit clear. :)

Just wanted to chime in as another mod mentioned in the article who has been communicating back and forth with Ms. Harding over the last few weeks. I’m also burnt out on the idea of being a mod again. It’s just not worth it, especially when I have so many other things to occupy my time with.

Was born premature, and required open heart surgery when I was only a few days old.

When I was around 17 I had the chance to visit the hospital and tour the children’s ICU I had been in. A children’s ICU is not the happiest place in the world, and there were strange looks from both staff and parents as we walked around, feeling very awkward.

Then a short man with a thick accent burst through the door and hugged me. Turned out, the doctor who had performed my surgery was there and insisted on showing me around personally.

He walked me over to a woman who was about the saddest person I have ever seen, sitting next to an incubator. “This is what your son will look like in 18 years” he told her.

They took my picture, and hung it on the board for the kids who had “graduated”, and I have to believe it was the first time in a long time that room had joy and happiness in it.

If someone had told me that that doctor wasn’t welcome because he had a husband I think I would have wanted to become violent.

This law means that those families now have 1/3 fewer people to give a chance for thier kids, and the odds for me hadn’t been that great to begin with.

This data came to us over a YEAR ago?! JWST is giving us such an incredible amount of information that’s going to take decades to fully decipher and understand and I’m so here for it!

The successful insertion and deployment of this telescope was such a magnificent achievement for us all.
