Paragone, No Triffid markers??
Normal ppl, harrumph.
: P
darkmogool, How to say you’re from Austria, without saying you’re from Austria.
But nice signs.
KSPAtlas, Post Melone

I have a different approach. I print very thin 0.2mm plastic strips and use label maker on them.
hinterlufer, might as well cut up old yogurt containers

Or that.

Me and my wife chose a more sporky solution.
MeanEYE, ![]()
Good and cheap solution!
RememberTheApollo_, And better than putting more plastic in the dirt.
MeanEYE, ![]()
If you take the plastic out, it’s not much of a problem.

In April comes the “Bubatz” one? 🥸
starchylemming, austria too?
Roflmasterbigpimp, ![]()
Oh is he Austrian? Whoops. I guess not then. But our brothers and sisters from the Alps are more then welcome to join us :D
Schmuppes, The “Paradeiser” gave it away.
MNByChoice, I am a terrible gardener as I only recognize zucchini.
Ephera, They’re written in German/Austrian.
Paradeiser is tomato,
Kürbis is pumpkin,
Melone is melon,
Salatgurke is cucumber,
Melanzani is eggplant.
spechter, I’m a native speaker and I’ve never heard Paradeiser until three weeks ago
Ephera, Native speaker of German or native speaker of Austrian? Because yeah, that’s perhaps the most Austrian word in existence…
Schlecknits, I was raised in near Vienna and I heard the word often. However I’ve moved to Tyrol recently and it isn’t really used here.
swordsmanluke, You don’t have enough zucchini markers.
Hmm. How many kilos do you have? It doesn’t really matter how much zucchini you plant - you will need at least three times as many markers as you think.
corsicanguppy, planing
Well I’ve used a thickness planer but it wasn’t good for field work. I have a hand plane but please let me know how I could use it on my garden.
technomad, Alright, well, I thought these were really cool. Just sayin’
Grass, Do we just have enough micro plastics already in the water and soil that these don’t make a measurable difference?
Kusimulkku, I mean do you really think these would make a measurable difference? I’d be really surprised.
lugal, Found the Austrian
IMALlama, These are cute, but I use popsicle sticks personally. Fast/easy. Now drip trays and even pots… those I have been known to print.
SpaceNoodle, Gotta get those microplastics right in there by the roots
Kusimulkku, 🙄
SpaceNoodle, I don’t get it. Are you a microplastics denier or something?
Kusimulkku, I just think people here have taken the worry about it to ridiculous degree.
SpaceNoodle, I wasn’t worrying about it; I was glibly joking about the ecological disaster.
Contend6248, Are you watering your plants? Microplastics got you anyway
SpaceNoodle, Maybe slow it down a bit by not directly putting more plastic in there.
RamblingPanda, It’s what plants crave

I am very attracted to 3D printing but I have stayed away so far because of the micro plastics issue and the overabundance of plastic in our world.
I can't wait for affordable metal printers.
Shawdow194, ![]()
I agree. I try to strictly print in PLA/organic derived polymers. The idea of printing in ABS does not sound appealing
It's not perfect but if printing something on my printer saves me ordering a plastic ABS part all the way from China, I feel like I'm doing my part
bort, solid blocks of plastic create microplastics when sitting in dirt?
MaggiWuerze, yes
Wahots, ![]()
Acidic soil + UV, for sure.
