@mattferrell @siracusa I used to have a cat that would chew through headphone cables, but luckily nothing thicker. I'd be furious about this situation! Hope Apple can replace it quickly enough.

@mattferrell Back when I had a cheese-grater Mac Pro, my cat shorted out the graphics card.

I thought the whole Mac was toasted, until I swapped out the card. Whew.

I hope your Vision Pro is A-OK … does AppleCare cover cats?

I have a suggestion, although I have not tried it on Apple cables: apply some lemon juice on cable can help. Unless your cat is a fan of acidic tastes 😉

@Mehrad @mattferrell I had a puppy who liked to chew on things she wasn’t supposed to, so I sprayed it with bitter spray. Unfortunately, she enjoyed the bitter taste, so the effort was futile.

I've been there😅 I bought a commercial spray that was supposed to work but in action my cat was indifferent to its scent. That's why I think an acidic thing that can dry up, does not harm the pet, and doesn't damage the cable is useful. I literally cut a slit into a lime and passed the cable through it and hung it for an hour to dry, then I connected it back. Worked for me very nicely.
