I think Baldur's Gate 3 makes my case of "People think in percentages" for me. Whenever you make an attack, you can hover over potential targets and it will tell you your percentage chance to hit. Easy for a computer but that is much more difficult at the table, so why not just use percentages built into the system instead of you have +4 to hit and you need to hit a target of 12 nonsense.

@bedirthan I have been running an 80s AD&D homebrew type system where I convert everything into percentages and it has been great so far.
