I've been contacted by a law student in Seattle. She's writing a law review note on the and following in my footsteps by discussing the rarely-discussed concept of misuse. She's citing my work and, I hope, adding more to the argument. I hope this is a trend. More information is better, but I'm tired of arguing about it.

@gsllc I seem to recall you were working on a copyright free version of D&D. Did you ever finish writing that up? I would be interested in seeing it even if you lost interest in the project. Maybe it could be something put up github for everyone to work on.

@randomwizard Well, what I was doing was writing the entire 5th edition PHB in my own words. Because copyright extends only to the specific expression of the rules, my distinct expression wouldn't infringe theirs. However, they backed down on the OGL 2.0, so there was no longer a reason to punish them for it. That could (and probably will) change, but for now, I don't want to ruin a market for a company. They're the dicks; not I. But it's about 40-50% finished, so fuck around and find out, WotC.

@gsllc @randomwizard plus they did the CC BY thing.

Also, Kobold and EN Publishing essentially have done what you were doing
