A new MIT design plans to harness 40% of the Sun's heat to produce a clean hydrogen fuel

The efficiency of a system for generating carbon-free hydrogen fuel has been increased from 7% to 40% by MIT engineers through the use of a series of sun-driven reactors. This innovative design allows for the production of green hydrogen that is scalable through a train-like reactor design.

Photocatalize much more perspective than electrolysis from any side. Except of income for oil gigants. Centralized large scale of producing is dead way

The end question is the net gain of energy in the end for the entire system. It seems like a number of steps in the process that all take their own energy percentage, plus there's the resources needed - water and this metal catalyst that certainly would need to be resupplied no matter how recyclable it is.
