@faab64 have you read the IDF report? You really think it's in any way in our interest to kill foreigners for any reason whatsoever?
The cars were not marked for night vision, the communication between the unit on the ground and the high command was broken and I have a feeling even more officers will be discharged (and brought to judgment). Contrary to what you believe, this is is a very bad incident for us on every level.
