@ttpphd@enobacon In addition to @enobacon's great tips, be aware that the road is more slippery when wet, and that brakes work a little bit less. Just take it a bit easy and you'll get the feel for it. Oh and watch out for any rail/tram tracks, they get really slippery when wet so take it super easy unless you're crossing them fully perpendicular. You can do it!
@CargoBikeLife@ttpphd ah yes, the wet metal! Avoid braking or turning on any wet metal surface, manhole covers, construction zone plates, etc. (the traction is questionable when dry but like ice when wet.) Also note that drivers can't see anything through their windows in the rain and won't notice you unless you trip their lizard brain's car detector with two headlights and two tail lights.
@ttpphd I hope you have fenders. If you need to be dry at your destination, you'll need a poncho. Rain pants will get you wet from sweat very quickly. Shorts and wool socks for me, until it's below 50. Cap to keep rain out of your eyes/glasses. Maybe rubber boots but see also fenders and mudflaps.
