It is horny season again! ♥️

These two 🦌 are at it again every evening, fighting for the trophy you can see in the background.

They are relentless, I can tell you. It is so amazing watching this basically in front of our house. They were like 20m away from me.

Two roebucks fighting for the love of (or rahter the permission to make love to) a doe.

It's been quite the week for our resident Goldfinch family.

One chick met an unfortunate end after crashing into a window.
Yesterday, we watched one get taken by a Sparrowhawk right in front of us in our tree.

We see one chick left ... godspeed, little one.

@goo Ha! This is something I'm hoping to invite to my house. I have 25kg of birdseed that I ordered by accident that I'm looking to put to good use. (We normally order floating swan/duck food and feed them multiple times a day around the WoL & the docks).

I'm after a railing mounted feeder or two, and I'd like to get a birdbath up on this terrace as well if possible. Any suggestions? I could go the shepards-hook method attached to the railing, but the wind might blow the feeders off!

@geo I have these, which are the only pigeon-proof feeders for sunflower hearts & niger seeds! Honeyfields Hanging Sunflower Hearts Seed Feeder https://amzn.eu/d/3QJSKEV and Niger Seed Bird Feeder https://amzn.eu/d/igYYoAm

Both hang from a hanging basket bracket I put up - the sunflower one directly, and the niger one hanging from a loop created from a zip-tie.

(The bracket has anti-pigeon spikes attached on top as the pigeons would sit on it).

A true American hero - this devoured a yellow jacket nest in our backyard.
