Now that I’ve seen 3 episodes of on , I can say it:

For telling these kinds of stories, video is completely the inferior medium.

Does not even compare.

@darwinwoodka Yes, it was hard to follow that. I did end up researching it somewhat while reading the first book.

But now that I’m out of the emotional response, I am glad they put it out as a series. The book was perhaps a bit unaccessable to the masses, but a series is usually accessable to everyone.

@darwinwoodka In it’s core, Three Body Problem is a deeply conservative book.

Conservatism teaches us about the necessity of fear over overwhelming strenght.

In the west sci-fi writers have favoured more liberal values, those of the adventurers looking for new solutions.

Three body problem acknowledges we need both, but it’s resolution of balance is strikingly different of that the western writers have arrived at.
