Hmm, automating my parents' conservatory windows using one of these is turning out to be easier as well as slightly more time consuming than I anticipated.
It was super easy to automate the motors using a #DS18B20 temperature sensor on the device itself with their firmware.
But making it work with the original up/down switches does require some scripting, and stuffing everything into the wall box is just not possible.
I should not have left this job to the very last minute!
This is the moment when I finally made some progress with my #Shelly script and the poor paper #wasp population in my parents' conservatory finally got full access to and from their nest back.
Now the two windows open (individually) when the inside temperature exceeds 25°C and closes again when it falls below 24°C. I also added a couple of switches to allow manually opening and closing the windows via the original buttons.
Now I just need to get it all into an enclosure (and do some testing).
