Not able to use a typical AC-powered fan, used a 12V car/truck radiator fan, a DC17-55V to DC12V adapter, and a PWM motor module as both a power switch and speed regulator, 4 14x20 inch MERV13 filters and some old 2x2s to build the frame.
It moves a LOT of air at full power (~120W), but very much on the noisy side!
I've started writing up my thoughts, design, and development thinking for an ESP32 based sort-of-educational pseudo-analog synth toy/hack/plaything meant to be used with a breadboard for extras.
I'm probably tempting fate by posting about it at this point, but I had several posts in draft so thought I'd hit "go" on them anyway.
When I get the actual boards back, if the posts all suddenly disappear, you'll know it was a bit of a disaster!
Another half forgotten thing done: Crosscut sled for the table saw.
Some floorboard offcuts, two carefully whittled strips for the tracks, a bit of glue to keep them in place before also screwing them on. And two bridges, of course.
Need to find an old candle to rub on the bottom, but test cuts work well enough already.
Not wiggling, but we'll see how the wooden strips do over time - the workshop is a bit drafty and they might shrink/expand.
We think we’re finally done with everything we had to get done before concrete. The Glavel is in and compacted, the filter fabric is laid on top, and the Stego radon barrier is installed under the building slab. Every one of the 22 (!) conduits and pipes has been meticulously sealed with mastic.
Tomorrow morning our concrete contractor will form for the two slabs and add rebar, and concrete for the first slab is due at 10am. Fingers crossed!
We’ve been making good progress on the build. All that’s left to do before concrete can be poured is install filter fabric and our radon barrier (15-mil Stego). But, rain has stopped play today and the concrete contractor is coming Tuesday so Monday is going to be busy!
On Friday we bought a rock bucket for the tractor which is a game changer for getting big rocks out of our soil before we backfilled.
I'm looking for a #coffee table for in the #garden next to my couch in the sun. Any creative cool ideas? Can be #diy can be premade can be an ikea hack. Should be able to fit at least two mugs, be easily movable
#followerpower#diy#holz
Ray ⬆️ @Razor58 is still in a motel looking for better housing or at least reliable shelter, he asked if there's anyone who could do this kind of trailer build?
He's still in #Amarillo TX for the time being. Would go elsewhere but ideally would like to go to #NC.
