My two #shelly plugs just went out - server rack and desktop.
I don't have a clue why they failed, let alone both at the same time.
The only thing that comes to mind is that there was a firmware upgrade.... #sysadmin fun for sure 😂

Bis zu 5% Abweichung sind wohl möglich. Ich liege schon gut damit. Ich glaube wenn ich die exakten Tage mal angeschaut habe, bin ich vielleicht so bei 2 bis 3% Abweichung. Aber das ist immer noch sehr gut. Wenn man das weiß, kann man damit rechnen. So habe ich zumindest eine sehr zeitnahe Darstellung, weil der Zähler zwei Stockwerke tiefer liegt und ich den Messtellenbetreiber nicht dazu bewegen konnte mir online Zugriff zu verschaffen.
Habe hier eine Shelly S Plug Plus. Sehr schick und lässt sich einfach ins Netzwerk einbinden. Zur Erfassung des Stromverbrauchs möchte ich die Informationen über MQTT übertragen/auslesen. Gibt es da etwas leichtgewichtiges? Mir geht es nur um die Erfassung des Verbrauchs über einen Zeitraum X.
@kuketzblog Auf der Shelly kannst Du Scripte programmieren. Damit regelmäßig den Verbrauch erfassen und als CSV ins interne Log schreiben. Dieses Log dann auslesen und löschen. Sollte funktionieren. Beispiel-Scripte gibt es bei GitHub.
Ich möchte gerne den Stromverbrauch meines #Warmwasser#Boilers messen über einen längeren Zeitraum.
Er ist fest verdrahtet mit 3 #Phasen und hat max. 6kW #Heizleistung.
Normaler #schuko Dose fällt raus, #shelly wird's mir zerlegen.
Was würde euch noch einfallen um so eine hohe #Leistung messen zu können (ideal mittels WiFi Modul)
@maexchen1 hast du da eine Empfehlung, mit welchen Geräten ich das über einen längeren Zeitraum, am besten über WLAN abrufbar, messen könnte? Kann ich jede Phase einzeln messen mit nem eigenen kleinen Shelly und dann zamrechnen? 🤔

I've been singing the praises of #Shelly as a company as I've had good luck with some of the Shelly Plus 2 PM relays, but I've not had such good luck with their smart plugs. I have two plugs stuck in some weird state.
They're showing as unavailable in #HomeAssistant. During that troubleshooting, I realized they had updated their app.
Ok, no problem. I'll get the new one, but I couldn't log into the new app with the old credentials.
Ok, I'll create a new account on the new platform, but now I can't import my devices as they say they're associated with another account.
Well, that sucks, but fine, let's just reset the devices to factory. But even after they're still associated with the other account... I presume on Shelly Cloud or whatever they call their dumb thing.
I've mentioned a few times here how I have struggled with ESPHome devices because I don't think I'm quite managing things correctly. At least ESP Home is 100% fully local—no 3rd party app is required. No account. My devices don't get registered with the mothership.
All that to say, I'm going to take a closer look at #KaufHA plugs for smart plugs, and probably #Zooz relays for relay applications.
When you power up in Shelly-devices for the first time, they will create a local access point where you can connect to, and connect to the devices HTTP-server. You can configure the device to be entirely "offline" :)
@michaelharley Not familiar with these devices, but if you do decide to switch things up, sticking with a ZigBee base is a good way to early opt out of this category of issues.
Hmm, automating my parents' conservatory windows using one of these is turning out to be easier as well as slightly more time consuming than I anticipated.
It was super easy to automate the motors using a #DS18B20 temperature sensor on the device itself with their firmware.
But making it work with the original up/down switches does require some scripting, and stuffing everything into the wall box is just not possible.
I should not have left this job to the very last minute!
This is the moment when I finally made some progress with my #Shelly script and the poor paper #wasp population in my parents' conservatory finally got full access to and from their nest back.
Now the two windows open (individually) when the inside temperature exceeds 25°C and closes again when it falls below 24°C. I also added a couple of switches to allow manually opening and closing the windows via the original buttons.
Now I just need to get it all into an enclosure (and do some testing).
