PWInsider.com can confirm that Punk suffered a torn triceps during the Men's Royal Rumble match and is believed to heading towards surgery after an appearance on tonight's Raw. Punk is in Tampa for the show.

SRS: "For those asking, we've been working on an update regarding CM Punk since the WWE Royal Rumble. There was an initial fear that he sustained an injury, but we've not confirmed that. Fightful's @CoreyBrennanFF was told that Punk waved off a doctor towards the end of the match."

So who knows atm.

Holy crap, putting all the backstage stuff aside, this man may not be built for this activity anymore, this would be his 3rd or 4th injury in what seems like 2-3 years, and it sucks big for him on a personal level in that he was on the cusp of finally getting that main event at Mania.

Updated. Not confirmed yet but yeah. If hes indeed injured he really needs to retire at this point. His body is clearly not good to go anymore and lbr it's not like he's gonna roid up to help heal or anything lmao.

If he does retire in-ring, I hope he remains active as a mouthpiece for a young up-and-comer. Punk's best skill is behind the mic. He could really elevate a guy like Bronn Breaker just by talking for him. Kinda like Heyman did for Brock.
