@reallyflygreg Yyyeah they do that quite frequently.

When I first started hearing about this, I asked #ChatGPT about new publications in this very tiny academic field I used to work in, and sure enough...

The "authors" it mentioned truly did/do work in that field, but the collaborations between them, as well as the actual "papers", were all complete bogus.
