Was ich bei RethinkDNS bemerkt habe: Wenn die Option "Durchgehend aktives VPN" aktiv ist, dann versuchen Apps wie K-9 Mail dauerhaft eine Push-Verbindung herzustellen - selbst dann noch, wenn sich das Gerät im Flugmodus befindet. Die Apps meinen wohl, via VPN besteht noch eine Verbindung zum Internet, obwohl definitiv keine besteht. Da ist ein Fix bei RethinkDNS gefragt.
Someone observed the same with Element (Matrix client) and it turned out it was an implementation issue.
If K9 is open source, perhaps it is worth asking their developers, if you know them, about where to look in the code that might help us investigate this?
@rdns The behaviour occurs with other apps: Element, Feeder, K-9 Mail and even the system apps (update checker) assume that there is an internet connection. I think a solution from RethinkDNS is really needed here. Incidentally, the problem only occurs when "always-on" VPN is activated.
