I've long believed that all apps (at least on Android) should start supporting UnifiedPush[1]. Tools like ntfy could serve as a central hub for notification distribution, allowing anyone to have their own notification server to connect apps and mobile devices. This would ensure greater privacy.
This is also why I developed NotiMail: we shouldn't have to rely on the 'big players' for our notifications and data.
What's the latest app you've installed on your desktop or phone, and why?
In my case it's #EasySSHFS, because it lets me mount remote directories on my phone, as if they were normal folder, no need for a special interface or anything
Ich habe mir die ENtscheidungshilfe für die Daten-Quellen angeschaut, kann mich aber nicht entscheiden.
Welche Quelle würdet ihr für West-Deutschland empfehlen?
I've been playing around with the Jetpack app (Android version on my Samsung S21) to write, edit and post to WordPress and I'm REALLY loving it. It's so intuitive-- cool things like when you do a hard return, it makes a new block, and the blocks have arrows to move them up and down, etc. It's wild. It's also really easy to format things, and I'm finding the UI excellent and easy to figure out without much thought at all, which is a total surprise. Should've been using this earlier!
Ok, this is more for the Calckey brethren, what clients do you use? I signed in initially with Fedilab and later with Milktea now. I like Calckey's reactions, something I think Mastodon should implement. I'm assuming for unsupported clients, all reactions are a ⭐.
Anyway, what do you use? I'm on Android, BTW. That I know matters. Thanks in advance! #clients#calckey#androidapps
I've recently discovered a game called Feudal Tactics that very much scratches my civ5 itch. It's very basic, but lots of fun. Highly recommend. https://github.com/Sesu8642/FeudalTactics
Is there a way to invoke Mozilla's Readability.js from a Linux / MacOS bash shell for a specific URL and save the output somewhere?
I'd like to test some issues I'm having with an Android app, but can't update and install the app on my device (which I apparently "use" but do not "own" or "control").
And/or a quick-start / idiot's guide to Android app building and packaging might be useful.
(I have worked out that an APK is just a structured ZIP file.)
