@thepoliticalcat He has not had his pointless hug yet because he's wandering around the house, faffing. I am, however, in situ, ready and waiting for him to turn up.
@thepoliticalcat The man does a lot of faffing, so I think it's a manly thing. Also, it has not involved giving me a 2nd dinner, so it is entirely to no purpose.
@thepoliticalcat I thought so. Usually there is so much faffing, that I try to climb onto him while he is still changing for bed. He takes far too long for my liking: my schedule has very definite timings, which he refuses to follow.
In other news, I permitted the tall one to pick me up today without screaming or acting like I was being murdered. I wasn't totally happy about it, but she emerged from the encounter with all her skin and I got treats.
@thepoliticalcat Yes, it worked out quite well. I got treats and the tall one thinks I'm starting to like her. Other evidence of "liking her" is that I no longer run away when she comes near me and I now permit some stroking to happen if I'm in the mood. I also (briefly) went into her room the other day to shout at the preferred human for going in there. Usually, I shout from the hallway.
@thepoliticalcat ooh! Cold is not good. The weather is OK for cats at the moment: dry, but cool. I have still spent a lot of my day in my box under the radiator as it's a little too cool for me. Eric, who is better dressed for winter, has been having a great time in the garden trying to kill things: a plastic bag, a leaf, the grass and a particularly vicious attack on the shed. However, this means he's not in the house so much annoying me, so I'm being very supportive.
@thepoliticalcat He needs to get the galloping, mauling and screaming out of his system first. Once he's tired himself out, he does sleep for ages. However, instead of sleeping neatly, he sprawls about and takes up my space, which is annoying.
@thepoliticalcat Yes, he is much less annoying when he's asleep. Unless, of course, he decides to put his dirty feet near me. This was from earlier today after he'd been galloping.
@thepoliticalcat This was after he said he had washed. His washing skills are substandard, and then he puts his dirty feet near me. It's an outrage. I was forced to take my nap elsewhere.
@thepoliticalcat one of the humans who visits who I like accused the preferred human of washing him because he's got the mud off, but still looked so wet and terrible.
He's still having terrible matting problems after that, so in addition to extra grooming, the preferred human had to get the scissors out. He's also leaving big chunks of fur all over the place. He's so disgusting.
@thepoliticalcat The cleaner alerted the preferred human that he was killing a mouse. He wasn't. He was just going berserk chasing a plastic bag he'd brought back from the street.
@thepoliticalcat I still had the inside one, but I much prefer the outside one. It has a better complexity of flavour, with full rounded top notes and tannins.
@thepoliticalcat The pointless hug has ended prematurely as the man has fallen asleep and is making upsetting noises. They are kind of like loud purrs, but not nice, healing ones. I have decided to hug the preferred human instead.
