miertam,

Dear @apple smart charging is really annoying when you grab your device and only discover halfway to work that it only charged to 53% instead of full. Not everyone works 9 to 5 or has access to a charger during the work day.

Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging > Charging Optimisation > Set to None

Indicah,

On android it sets the smart charge finish time to whenever your morning alarm is set to, so it’ll be ready when you are.

Pechente, (edited )

Why did you leave it on then? Just disable it. It doesn’t work for every life style but for me it’s fine.

miertam,

Because it turned itself back on after this last update @Pechente it was off.

asdfasdfasdf,

Most things that start with “Smart” are actually dumb as hell.

miertam,

I understand what they’re trying to do but I also understand that they know exactly when I unplug my devices every morning, having a one size fits all schedule for their battery conditioning just is …. Annoying. @asdfasdfasdf

asdfasdfasdf,

Even if they used metrics about when you normally plug in your device, that still means any deviation from that will result in you without enough battery power. It also adds cognitive load, like “I’m going to catch an early flight, so not I need to manually disable smart whatever”.

Broken_Monitor,

You can turn it off it the settings
