reddig33,

It’s like DFW in that most of the burbs for Dallas and Fort Worth aren’t shared between the two. They are still distinct entities that share a mega airport between the two.

spizzat2,

So it's time to start picking names, right?

Austonio? San Austin? ASA?

Or are we just going to embrace Mega Braunfels?

pigeonberry,

Austin was another name for Augustine (as in missionary to the English), so San Austin works theologically.

spizzat2,

I much prefer Augustine of Hippo, the patron saint of brewers.

RagingHungryPanda,

I like Mega Braunfels. Makes me think of a Mega Bratwurst

malloc,

We are naming the region “Tacos”

MassKirbycide,

With the relative proximity and all the small towns in between, it really does seem like we’re trending toward an eventual DFW situation. Then the question becomes whether or not we eventually see an I-10N/I-10S split like they have with I-35. We’re the largest city in the country with only one interstate, so I wouldn’t rule out the possibility if we continue to outpace national growth trends.

fluxion,

Looking forward to the psychedelic AI-generated gerrymandering art we’d get out of this
