@vinnatron Worth having a look at both http://pika.page and http://scribbles.page. Both fun little projects to start blogs quickly by very small teams.

@vinnatron boosting this one for reach, I've used WordPress for years, years ago it was easier to change your blog name on the free plan and add more, now it's a bit more limited but I think setting one up is still fairly cheap, I did it for a class (and you can still set up a free one too, very easily, just not as customizable, and they'll intersperse ads into your posts, which I still have one mine, haha).

But really, I can't recommend WordPress enough. For the no-code, simple blog setups. My two main ones are on there,

I even did another one a couple years back for tech stuff, https://techusertoday.wordpress.com.

The free version is pretty limited (but usable), you're stuck with a username I think now for the URL of your blog when you sign up- but I think just even paying a TINY bit would help with the customizable aspects.
