@Artemis201 It looks very nice! I'll be there in a couple weeks, while I've never seen snow before (and that wouldn't hurt) I'm actually hoping it stays nice to explore the mountains ⛰️

@r_df_ng welcome! it's spring time here so we're basically guaranteed to have beautiful days interspersed with snow storms. The mountains will most certainly still have snow in a few weeks, so I hope you get to see it! I'm happy to provide any recommendations for things that are interesting to do

@Artemis201 Great, I'm very interested in your recommendations.

@r_df_ng Will you have your own car? Where do you plan to stay? Do you prefer outdoors or indoors stuff? Are you looking for free stuff or planning to spend money?

@Artemis201 No car, I'll be staying in southern Baseline Sub, I prefer more outdoors stuff (trailrunner!) but some indoors is nice (really enjoy live music, food, art) spending some money is ok.

Well your location is fantastic for trail running. I'd recommend checking out Royal Arch Trail which take you past the Flatirons, or maybe running/hiking to the tops of either Bear Peak or Green Mountain. Microspikes for your shoes would be helpful if you've got a friend you can borrow them from.
If you want skiing, there's a bus that goes from downtown to Eldora Ski Slope. You can get a day pass for $99 and skis from Crystal $40. Or $270 gets you Eldora's all-in package with lessons.

@r_df_ng I'd also highly recommend going to Rocky Mountain National Park. You can take the Busstang for $7.50 each way, plus $15 entrance fee. There will be some great hiking and running there. If you want, you could also rent snowshoes or something from Crystal Ski Shop for $15 and go snowshoeing.

@r_df_ng Indoors, you can take the bus to the Denver Science Museum which is $13. It's very cool, especially if you like dinosaurs.
CU Boulder also has a small museum of natural history, which is lovely.
If you'd just like a slice of life in Boulder, walking up and down the Pearl Street Mall is nice. I especially recommend Boulder Bookstore. The Dushanbe Teahouse has some cool history and good tea as well.

@r_df_ng If you like biking, there are a few places you can rent a bike for a day. I really enjoy biking out on the plains. I highly recommend any of the bike paths around town. You can bike up into the canyon (on Boulder Creek Bike Path), but at some point it will become icy. If you're brave and have strong legs you might also try biking up Flagstaff road, but you'll be sharing the road with cars so be careful.

@Artemis201 Wow, thank you for all the detailed and thorough information 🫶, I'll definitely check these places out. Hadn't considered skiing nor snowshoeing but both sound very nice.

@r_df_ng Have fun on your visit!
Oh, and if you haven't seen snow before, remember that you'll want boots if you go hiking in it and a shell layer if you're going to spend more than an hour out in it. Otherwise you'll be soaked and freezing by the end. <3 tag me if you have any other questions for your visit!

Another running suggestion, there are several running groups that are open to anyone. Showing up to one of their runs could be a fun way to see the city.
