For context, coal pollution kills a lot of people, and proof-of-work could be replace with low-energy proof-of-stake, so that it’s not necessary to solve pointless partial hash collision problems.
The problem with proof of stake is it replaces a silly idea of backing a currency with electrical waste with explicitly giving the rich complete control over the currency. I mean, they alter provably had that with etherum anyway, but it unfortunately makes it harder for shills to pretend this is some great experiment in fairness instead of a Ponsi scheme.
