This is actually how I felt experiencing my dad go through it. Its not like its one impairment that you learn to live with. Its a continual degradation.
This article talks like masking si somehow wrong. "they are still shielding", "fourth xmass shielding". I just got sick from something but negative for covid but my wife and I are going to continue to mask in public spaces. We went four years without being sick whereas prepandemic we got sick every year.
The article is doing the exact opposite of framing masks as wrong and is using the acceptable terms (yes - immunocompromised and otherwise disabled people have been shielding for years since they can't risk going outside because others refuse to wear masks).
yeah just felt that way to me, but I find acceptable terms as a negative phrase. I mask and that is fine. I don't need another term to sound more acceptable or something.
Problem is conservatives aren't going anywhere, Labour aren't exactly disabled-friendly and I don't for a second think they'll reverse any of this. Either way, after a term, two at most, regular Tories will be right back in charge since no government can fix the mess they'll be leaving behind, only they'll have Labour in power for a couple of years to blame it all on.
what on earth is a disabled parking meter? Is it a spot anyone can park in but non-disabled people have to pay for? Or is it a spot only disabled people can use but they have to pay for it? Either way sounds awful.
"Some of those parking meters are in sensitive locations. Hospitals near DSS and near Voc rehab," just sounds all kinds of wrong.
Yeah, I think it's a spot that only disabled people can use but have to pay to use. I also think it's just as curious that the article does not describe any kind of temporary action. So if the spot no longer has a meter, it can't be used? Does this mean that disabled people will have to park further away to use an existing meter not meant for disabled people? Why not allow people to use their placards as proof to at least be able to utilize the spots.
All the articles I found for this were pretty poor and left much to be answered.
