@marcprecipice That sucks. Those little 20” e-bikes seem like a really cool segment. I’ve had my eye on that bike and the rei coop ones for others.

@marcprecipice @amd the REI one seems good for people ~5'-7, but it's way too forward-leaning with the seatpost going straight up like I'm on a track bike. It would work for someone as short as 5-2, maybe with a handlebar swap to something swept back. But nice tires, good components, albeit no e-cutout on the hydraulic brake levers. I'm not sure if anybody is doing this category better than tern, though that trek with the fatter tires is interesting, rad runner still no hydraulic brakes?

@enobacon @marcprecipice @amd The Rad Runner 3 has hydraulic, with a price boost to match ($2300).

Tern has so many options!

The Kalkhoff Compacts are $$, but so cool!

@fbaum @marcprecipice @amd dang, my radrunner was (edit) $2030 (with a front basket and passenger bars, edit btw you can get cable-actuated hydraulic brakes for under $100) with mechanical brakes and that was less than a year ago. The rei at least has a trigger shifter with its 7-speed "megarange [i.e. that last step's a doozy]" freewheel (who has the 11-52 8, 9, or 10sp cassettes though? also IDK why hub motors with no torque arms)
