I think ebikes are the 'revolution' that e-cars were alleged to be. The problem with electric cars is that they only shift automobiles in one direction -- away from petro as fuel. But most domestic US electricity production is fossil fueled (though that is changing, slowly) and EVs do nothing at all about the other chronic car problems.

lol, I'm a lifelong car nut, I drive and wrench old cars. I don't want to eliminate cars, just eliminate the mandatory reliance on them for every little damn thing. Public trans is the way for commuting to go. Los Angeles (where I live) is building it very quickly, but hasn't dented congestion etc yet.

ebikes are sneaking in quietly, crowd sourced. We'll see how this all plays out.

Ebikes eliminate so many limitations of non-ebikes, maybe except the weather protection.
