Unofficial Subreddit Migration List (Lemmy, Kbin)
A comprehensive mapping of old subreddits to new communities.
A comprehensive mapping of old subreddits to new communities.
Stampela, I've made a community for one of my favorite subreddit, but aside from letting the mods know they are invited to get their roles here, and informing my clan that there's this place, I don't know what to do. I'm decently respected in the subreddit so worst case scenario if I post about this the mods will just delete the post, but I don't want to go around spamming and begging. Particularly not with the shit level of content I have right now. On the other hand if I do get an influx of people? I still have no idea how to mod and most importantly I don't want to! I understand that at the beginning I might have to, but my hopes are to hand the whole thing over to the old mods.
Ideas on what to do?
masukomi, see also...
cloud_punk, This is what I've been doing - The sidebar of the instance you want to save has a thing you can search like "!games"
So you take your home server and plug in the instance like this: https://lemmy.world/c/games@sh.itjust.works
Then you should be able to subscribe. Probably a way easier way to do this or a script but this is what I've been doing so far.
Anticorp, Thanks for the list! I still have no idea how to actually subscribe to these. Someone really needs to code an easier way to subscribe to communities cross federation. I'm usually pretty technical and I'm still having a difficult time with it, especially on mobile. Crafting my own URL is a PITA and probably more than an average user should be expected to do when they first sign up for a new site.
Blxter, Will this site be updated with more as they come. I find it hard to find ones for the ones from reddit.
Hikiru, I’ve also made !breathofthewild which is an unofficial community for r/breath_of_the_wild members
milktea, Thanks, using list to find new subs
ShadowRam, Thank you for putting that together.
