Man, I really love Pittsburgh.

Which doesn’t seem like a big thing if you don’t know me, but I hate cities. Like, it’s a joke among my friends not to mention nearby cities unless they’re prepared to listen to a five minute rant about why I hate a given city.

Any population center above maybe 50k people is a fucking sewer. Except Pittsburgh. I’ve visited there maybe a dozen times now, and I’m always consistently amazed with how friendly it is, how clean it is compared to even small towns, and just the general vibe of the place. It’s the only city I would live in voluntarily.

Also, this is coming from a southerner regarding a damn yankee city. So, there’s that, too.

Nurse_Robot,

Does this actually help? We have it in Colorado, and while I always use a reusable few bags I’ve had for years, I know a disturbing amount of people that buy new fabric bags literally every time they go to the store. The store makes more money, and the multiple cloth bags at every visit have an arguably worse overall environmental impact.

Seattle did this and it was awesome, but then they said, “we’ll provide thicker reusable plastic bags.” Now we have thicker, more durable waste.
