@mxtthxw @apite take some schematics and build one?

I've done it in the past with piezos and old speakers. There are better ways though.

@mxtthxw @apite apologies, didn't notice the 110v, just that it was in the UK.

    Something cool will turn up.

@mxtthxw @apite dynacords and effectors also interesting and possibly available your neck of the woods (again not worth reverb/eBay prices).

German and Japan eBay used to be the places for good stuff....

@mxtthxw @apite yikes - I noticed the other day that my beat up script multi phaser pedal is going for 1.2k locally. That's more than I paid for a set of Telefunken preamps or a lomo bottle mic in the early aughts.

@mxtthxw @davecarter I bought my last 2600 for $125. Paid another $50 to get it shipped down here. Half-worked with epoxy-encased modules that couldn’t be repaired. I just sampled the inanity that came out of it and shoehorned it into tracks… Sitting in a friend’s synth museum last I checked!

@mxtthxw @davecarter @apite interesting. Seems like gear is moving the other direction in the US at the moment, or at least the stuff I typically look at. I'd say it peaked here around mid-'22 or a little earlier even.

@etherdiver @mxtthxw @apite the bottom fell out of the vintage guitar market here about then - especially for the interesting middle-ground stuff. But audio gear is still commanding silly prices.

We are an island a long way away though.
