Bismuth is still functional on KDE Plasma Wayland 5.27!

Bismuth. Making tiling window management easy. On KDE Plasma.

Thanks to this fine person, we have a working Bismuth on Plasma 5.27. It only took the addition of one question mark to the code to bring it to life. Huge kudos to developer. Unfortunately, we will have to build Bismuth from source code. I built a package for Fedora 38, here you go, maybe someone will find it useful! ❤️

devfuuu,

It has never stopped working on my machines.

FarLine99,

Fixed the title 👌😃

It definitely stopped working on Wayland. Sure it still had basic 50% functionality, but it was very broken. Apparently the patch fixes that! Great news!

FarLine99,

it is VERYVERY good news. polonium is good but bismuth still three miles ahead. Dev who found way to fix the issue is gagigachaddd

There is also Polonium, aiming to be a successor to Bismuth using kwin’s native tiling. Haven’t used either though.

gentoo_biscuit,

Yess!! I’ve been waiting. Thanks for the news

FarLine99,

not so feature-rich and stable yet but gets job done.
